Waterfalls in South Carolina
In order to find the South Carolina Waterfalls, we had to go “upcountry”. For it was in the mountainous northwestern regions of this nearly diamond-shape state at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains that there was enough of a steep terrain to harbor such natural features. In addition to the waterfalls, we were able to experience them with beautiful Autumn colors.

Among the waterfalling highlights included the state’s tallest in Raven Cliff Falls as well as another associated with Cherokee legends in Issaqueena Falls.
I’m sure there’s a lot more waterfalling to do in South Carolina, and we’ll be sure to find more opportunities to do just that to do this state a bit more justice, especially when it comes to natural scenery.
