Waterfalls in Germany
Germany Waterfalls are largely concentrated in the country’s mountainous south encompassing the Bavarian Alps and the Black Forest. While most tourists visit the country to see the fairy-tale castles and the medieval towns, it’s amazing how overlooked the country’s Nature can be. And that’s where our tendency to use waterfalls to go to such places have served us well.
Yet even amongst the famous spots in Deutschland, there were waterfalls to be found. Perhaps the most famous example was the Neuschwanstein Castle (the inspiration behind just about all the Walt Disney castles), which also neighbored the Poellat Gorge Waterfall even though it was hard to get a good look at it since they don’t allow photos to be taken from within the castle itself where the best views were from.

In any case such waterfalling adventures took us to places like Baden Baden, Lindau, Ulm, Fussen, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Berchtesgaden, and more!
Among some of the waterfalling highlights included the Triberg Waterfalls, the Todtnauer Waterfall, the Hoellentalklamm Waterfalls, and the Rothbachfall and the Koenigssee Waterfalls among others.
While we recognize we’ve only seen a fraction of what there is to see and do in Germany, we hope to come back here and see the parts that we missed as well as the parts that we could have done better…
