Waterfalls in British Columbia
British Columbia Waterfalls span this mountainous province from its wet temperate climate in the west shared with our Pacific Northwest across the US border to the Canadian Rockies dominating its mountainous east side bordered with Alberta.
In BC, there’s a dynamic range of lifestyles and landscapes from the cosmopolitan coastal city of Vancouver to more rural back-to-nature places near waterfalls like Clearwater. It’s got world class skiing at Whistler Mountain as well as the lovely Victoria Island.

But our experience so far has been limited to the eastern side of the province encompassing the Canadian Rockies area (including Yoho National Park, Mt Robson, and Wells-Gray Provincial Park, etc.) and the western side of the province encompassing the mountains and islands of the Pacific Coast (including Vancouver Island and Whistler, among others).
Some of the notable waterfalls we’ve experienced in this province include the towering Takakkaw Falls, the wide Wapta Falls, the tall Shannon Falls and classical Brandywine Falls.
We do expect to return to British Columbia for more waterfalling visits so our survey of what we’ve seen so far will surely be augmented in the near future…
