Waterfalls in Maine
Maine Waterfalls were spread out in the extreme northeastern reaches of the Continental United States. We only have a humble sampling of the waterfalls to show for our efforts as many of them required a bit of a drive and/or hike in some pretty remote and far flung parts of the state far removed from large tracts of “civilization”.

The waterfalling highlights of this state included a fairly rugged excursion along the Appalachian Trail to see both tiers of the Dunn Falls and the colorful yet remote Moxie Falls along the Old Canada Road.
While we were fortunate to visit the charming lighthouses of Portland, we didn’t get a chance to experience Acadia National Park due to the government shutdown that took place during our trip. So certainly, we’re due for a return trip to this part of New England while checking out more waterfalls in the process!
