About “Tilltill Creek Falls”
“Tilltill Creek Falls” is a name I’m assigning to this unnamed waterfall on Tilltill Creek.
It’s a welcome sight after a lengthy 2.5-mile stretch of dry hiking beyond Wapama Falls en route to Rancheria Falls.
The waterfall was particularly a welcome sight considering we had walked at least 2.5 nearly featureless miles to this point (or five miles from the trailhead). This “featureless stretch” covered the area between Wapama Falls and this waterfall.
Plus, the trail was climbing then descending, which further added to the fatigue factor.
With a satisfying flow and drop of 50ft, there were also smaller cascades further upstream above the falls, which we noticed from the footbridge.
I was actually surprised that this waterfall wasn’t formally named given its flow and shape.
In any case, don’t make the mistake of thinking this is Rancheria Falls. There was still a few more minutes of uphill hiking to get there!
