This itinerary covered a very brief overnight trip to Point Reyes. The lone goal of this trip was to finally see Alamere Falls after having seen McWay Falls in Big Sur quite a few times.
We just had to see another example of thse so-called tidefalls (waterfalls dropping right into or next to an ocean). We also leveraged this trip into seeing some of Julie’s friends who live in Silicon Valley.
Needless to say, there was a lot of driving involved, but I could easily imagine how just adding another day to this itinerary could have made the entire weekend a bit less hectic…

Trip Highlights
Alamere Falls – This was the sole reason for going out of our way to do this trip, and even though morning might not be the best time to visit due to the fog obscuring the coastal views, it was still interesting to see sealife washing ashore like a starfish.
Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Los Angeles to Olema
Overnight: Bear Valley Inn (Olema, California, USA)
This was a very long driving day where we made our drive after work, and it wasn’t until pretty late at night when we finally checked into our accommodation.
Day 2: Drive Home
After the included breakfast at our bed and breakfast, we then drove to the Palomarin Trailhead to do the hike to Alamere Falls. After the hike, we then hung out with Julie’s friends in Silicon Valley before returning home after another brutally long drive.
