Waterfalls in Austria
Austria Waterfalls were abundant largely due to its mountainous terrain as it sat smack in the heart of the Eastern Alps. With such an abundance of mountains, we knew there were waterfalls to be seen here. And indeed, when we finally got to come here, it certainly didn’t disappoint.
So Julie and I recognized that we had a big hole in our survey of European Waterfalls without a visit here, and now after having spent at least three weeks in this landlocked country of castles, gorges, palaces, thermal lakes, alpine rollercoasters, etc., we feel like we’ve at least filled the last of the country-sized wholes in our European survey of waterfalls.
We’ve also encountered unique ones like the convergence of falling water in the Waldbachstrub Waterfall by the UNESCO World Heritage Hallstatt.
