Waterfalls in Texas
Texas Waterfalls were kind of an oxymoron since this vast state was largely dominated by plains. But we managed to find a fair concentration of them in the Austin Hills west of the state capital of Austin, and it made us wonder what other waterfalling surprises could be found here.

So far in our travels, the Austin Hills Region is all we have to show for our waterfalling survey. Still, we managed to see some of the best waterfalls that the state had to offer including McKinney Falls, which was within the city’s limits, as well as the impressive the Hamilton Pool, which featured a deep alcove and an opportunity to cool off a bit from the Texas heat.
Who knew that such places existed amongst the ranches and deserts that we thought would dominate the landscape?
And while they do things big in the state (e.g. Texas barbecue, cars and trucks, properties, etc.), the waterfalls could be mentioned in this category based on their popularity.
