About “Cathedral Lake Falls”
“Cathedral Lake Falls” is a name I made up for this easy-to-miss waterfall on the Tioga Road just before the Pywiack Dome.
From what we could tell, it didn’t look like it was accessible by normal means so I settled for this somewhat poor view of it (and hence poor photo).
I don’t know how long the flow of this obscure cascade would last, but I’d imagine it doesn’t last long or else there would’ve been more attention paid to it, I’m sure.

I’m totally speculating here, but it looked like it drained Cathedral Lake, which was why I made up this name for the falls.
So the jagged Cathedral Peak made for a nice backdrop to the falls.
Perhaps one of these days, I’ll go back and see if there’s a safe way to access the falls – whether it’s by the Cathedral Lake Trail or by a scramble off the Tioga Road.
If anything, it piqued my interest in actually hiking to Cathedral Lake and see Cathedral Peak as well…
