Waterfall Safety and Common Sense

Double Falls was a bit of a waterfall surprise for us as it ended up being included as part of our air tour over both Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls. It was an attractive two-tiered waterfall that drained into the remote Death Adder Valley (or was it Deaf Adder Valley as stated in my Natmap Raster Australia map?). But from what I understand, the helicopter tour we took was really the only way we would see this waterfall as we were unaware of any land-based methods to reasonably get here.

We gathered that our waterfall visit here was more of a fluke as I wasn’t sure a visit here would be typical of any tour. So given the paucity of information about it, we can’t really say much more about the falls other than what you see in the pictures here.

Speaking of pictures, our experience with this waterfall on our helicopter tour consisted of just one passover over the falls. We were warned by the pilot ahead of time so we had to make sure that our cameras were properly set up to capitalize on the flyover. The trick was to set a very high ISO on the DSLR as well as to put it in continuous shooting mode so nothing was missed during the flyover.
