We Visited this Waterfall in Sept. 2004 (Voringsfossen)

submitted by Russell Pritchard on November 27, 2011

This post was in response to Voringsfossen

My Wife, my 2 children (aged 12 and 14 at the time) and I visited Voringsfossen on our Norwegian holiday in 2004.

We were driving from Oslo to Bergen, and, I can tell you, it was one of the most spectacular sights I have ever seen. It was certainly the most beautiful waterfall I have seen on all my travels anywhere in the world.

The only problem I had was, that I am scared to death of heights, and, was only able to glance over the edge of the lookout in front of the hotel for a brief very tense moment before having to go back to look from a distance!(LOL).

The rest of my family, fortunately, do not share my phobia, and, were able to admire the beauty for quite a while longer, walking down some of the paths for a better view.

The sheer magnificence of what I did see for that brief moment will stay with me forever, and, despite the sheer terror I was feeling, I still consider it one of the highlights of the trip.

Well worth a visit.
