It is possible to get to the base of the waterfall. Near the start of the path to the platform, there is a path to the left which ends at the creek, after that you travel along the banks on which ever side looks easier. You will have to cross the creek a few times on the rocks so probably only doable in the drier months unless you don’t mind getting your feet wet. Towards the end there are a couple of short vertical climbs up the rocks, also plants with thorns and stings along the way. You won’t see as much of the waterfall from the base since the waterfall is sloped, the top is hidden when viewed from the base. I hate not being able to see waterfalls from up close so it was worth it but I probably won’t want to try it again.
