My Personal Top 10 Favorite Waterfalls

submitted by Ron Andrews on January 26, 2013

This post was in response to Top 10 Waterfalls of the USA

Somewhere in Steuben County High Falls Laser Show Fishing at Lower Falls Post Card Falls in Corbett's Glen

Like our host, I considered putting McWay Falls in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park on my list. It is one of the most beautiful spots on CA 1, but it is the entire cove, not just the waterfall, that is so impressive. My list is biased towards the waterfalls I can visit more often.

10. Middle Falls of the Genesee River in Letchworth State Park (NY)

9. Niagara Falls (about 90 minutes down the Throughway)

8. Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River

7. Rock Falls on Havasu Creek, AZ

6. Mooney Falls on Havasu Creek, AZ

5. Yosemite Falls

4. A waterfall somewhere in Steuben County, NY on land we once owned. (It is still in private hands)

3. High Falls in Rochester, NY

2. Lower Falls of the Genesee River in Rochester, NY (I can visit on my lunch hour)

1. Post Card Falls in Corbett’s Glen near Rochester, NY (a short walk from our house)
