4.5 hr flight from LAX to ATL;
ATL to Caracas,
Was going to get taxi from airport (about 45 minutes outside Caracas proper) to hotel but friendly seatmate from the airplane gave me a ride to my hotel.
Overnight in Caracas (Hilton, had pre booked prior to arrival).
Met 4 other traveling companions next day, took taxi Van to a bus station.
4 hour bus ride to a small airport (looking exactly like the one pictured).
About a 90 minute flight to a tiny tiny village airport (3-4. Huts, plus runway).
Re packed our bags and began the 6 day hike to angel falls.
No mention of a river or canoe trip involved, however that would’ve been much easier!
Met our 2 guides at the small village where the 6 seater plane landed
