Waterfall Safety and Common Sense

Lower North Falls was probably the least scenic of all the waterfalls bearing the name “North Falls” in Silver Falls State Park. This one was more of a sliding waterfall said to have a cumulative height of around 30ft with lots of fallen logs resting on its main drop.

This was also probably the furthest of the waterfalls to reach on the Trail of Ten Falls regardless of which trailhead we started from. Since we visited this waterfall from the Winter Falls car park, we had to hike a little over a mile away from the trailhead (though we did get to pass by several waterfalls on the way). Had we come from the South Falls car park, we would have had to hike at least 2.3 miles or more in one direction (or about 1.3 miles from Lower South Falls).
